Marni was the flagbearer for the 1996 Paralympic Games
Wheelchair basketball superstar and coach Marni Abbott-Peter will be inducted into the Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame.

Though many of our participants know her as a coach and mentor, Marni has had a storied career. She began as a swimmer and won four gold and one silver medal at the 1986 Para Pan American Games. After switching to wheelchair basketball in 1988, she made the national team in 1992 and won a gold medal at the Barcelona Paralympics that year. Marni has won three Paralympic gold medals and three World Championship gold medals.

Marni will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, along with wheelchair curler Sonja Gaudet, at a ceremony on November 1st.
