BCWSA Para-Throws Athlete Jessye Brockway Breaks a Canadian Record!

Congratulations to Jessye Brockway for setting a new Canadian record in the women’s F58 discus throw! Brockway, of Mill Bay, broke the previous record with a throw of 19.57 metres at the Boiling Point Track Classic in Windsor, Ontario this weekend.

Brockway was introduced to the sport at a Bridging the Gap Have a Go Day last year. Since then, she has become one of Canada’s fastest-rising para-throws athletes. She is ranked number one in Canada in Women's F58 shot put thanks to her score of 6.30 meters at the Elwood Wylie Track Meet. At the 2013 Canadian Track and Field National Championships two weeks ago, she won a gold medal in the Women’s F58 Shot Put and had the opportunity to work with top-level coaches.
Congratulations Jessye! We can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish next!
