BCWSA Wheelchair Rugby Athlete Jess Kruger Named the Face of Lise Watier Something Sweet!
BC Wheelchair Sports Association congratulates wheelchair rugby player Jessica Kruger on winning the Lise Watier Something Sweet campaign and fulfilling her dream of becoming one of the world's first quadriplegic models.
Jessica, who plays for the BC B team and is also an English Literature student at Simon Fraser University, entered the social media contest last month. Her story sparked media attention around the world and she was featured on talk shows, on news shows and in publications such as the Huffington Post and the Vancouver Sun. The votes she received launched her into first place in the contest and she made the top 5.
This week, Jess and the other four finalists were flown to Montreal to meet the judges, indulge in a little high tea, and take part in a photo shoot. Today, Jess was declared the winner.
Congratulations to Jess for paving the way for other women with disabilities and showing that women can be both sporty and fashionable! We can't wait to see what you accomplish next!
